Cosmetic Dentist in Waxhaw, NC

A bright and beautiful smile It's true that cosmetic dentistry has been around for hundreds of years. In fact, the Mayans replaced broken or missing teeth with seashells. With all the advances in medical technology, dentistry has seen some incredible improvements.

We now have porcelains that closely resemble natural tooth enamel and bonding agents that deliver longer-lasting results. You don't have to let discolored or damaged teeth dampen your self-confidence. Our cosmetic dentistry services can help you achieve the bright, flawless smile you desire.

Teeth Whitening

A woman pointing at her beautiful smile. If stained or discolored teeth are a concern, teeth whitening can gently remove stains, giving teeth a healthier, more youthful appearance. At Ruocco Dental, we use the Opalescence® Tooth Whitening System.

Your teeth can appear yellowed or darkened because of stains that are both on the enamel surface and below in the dentin layer of a tooth. Those convenient over-the-counter tooth-whitening treatments may be able to remove some surface staining, but they aren’t strong enough to penetrate deep into the dentin.

Opalescence, however, contains either carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide. These reach below the surface to break up deep staining. At home, you’ll simply fill your custom-fit bleaching trays with the Opalescence gel and wear them according to the instructions you received from your Waxhaw cosmetic dentist.

Cosmetic Bonding

A smiling young couple. Even small chips or gaps between your teeth can diminish your smile and make you feel self-conscious. Cosmetic bonding with composite resin is an excellent and affordable way to enhance your smile.

Composite resin is the same material we use for dental fillings, and it can be customized to match your smile and eliminate small chips, fractures, gaps, or discoloration in your teeth. Bonding is non-invasive since it doesn’t require the loss of any tooth structure, and it’s typically less expensive than other cosmetic options. It can usually be completed in one appointment, so you’ll be enjoying your new smile in no time.

Porcelain Veneers

A happy familyIf your teeth need more complex repairs, or perhaps you are dreaming of a “Hollywood” smile, Drs. Ruocco may recommend porcelain veneers. These high-quality restorations can repair chipped, damaged, gapped, or crooked teeth in just one or two visits.

Porcelain veneers are also called instant orthodontics, and for good reason. Whether your smile has crooked teeth, or teeth that are also fractured, chipped and misshapen, porcelain veneers can create a new smile that is straight, white and perfectly formed.

Made of strong dental porcelain or ceramic, veneers are bonded to the front of the teeth that people see when you smile. Because they are translucent, veneers reflect light just like your own teeth for a smile that is bright and natural looking.

CEREC One-Visit Crowns

CEREC crowns offer the strength and durability of traditional crowns with one major difference: these crowns are designed, built and placed in one single visit to the Waxhaw dentist.

The in-office CEREC system includes an intraoral digital camera, CAD/CAM software and a milling unit. Together, these three components take the place of the impression that is usually sent to a dental lab where your crown is fabricated off-site.

Now, we prepare your tooth, photograph it and send the image to the computer that designs your crown. Based on this design, the milling unit manufactures the crown, and before you leave our office your permanent crown is in place.

Let your dentist in Waxhaw show you how beautiful your smile can truly be with cosmetic dentistry.
